The Story

About This Pub Crawl

Decades ago, Flagstaff, Arizona was a sleepy little railroad settlement at the base of Mount Humphries. Today, its past has been lovingly preserved in the historic downtown district. Colorful characters from the town’s early days, along with the hotels and stores they labored to build, are the subject of amusing anecdotes and ghostly tales. The Orpheum Theatre sits next to the iconic Weatherford Hotel-both buildings born from the imagination of John Weatherford. Kindly Dr. Raymond, beloved if eccentric town physician, built his home and offices on Leroux St. The 1926 train depot and Hotel Monte Vista are not only of historic note–both buildings are known as supernatural hotspots. The sad tragic story of Marie Walkup and her murdered children is set in 1930s Flagstaff and is a chilling reminder of life’s uncertainties. Along the route, guests will be treated to stops in historic downtown bars, where they can enjoy a drink while being regaled with stories from the past.

Now a Private Tour for Your Group

Spirits With The Spirits no longer runs on a weekly public schedule. It runs as a private booking instead. Your own guide. Your own people. A date you pick. Ghost stories between rounds at three historic downtown bars, about two hours, groups up to 16, 21+ only.

Private works better for a night like this. Bachelorette weekends. Birthdays. Corporate outings that beat another conference room. A crew of friends who like their history with a drink in hand. No strangers in the group, and the stories land the way they should.

Tell us your date and group size and we will set it up. Pricing is quoted per group, not per person. Inquire about a private crawl, or call or text (928) 224-0518.

Quick answers

How do I book a Freaky Foot Tours walking tour?

Book online through our secure Peek booking calendar (every tour page has a Book Now button), or call or text us at (928) 224-0518. Booking a few days ahead is recommended: tours are small groups, Friday and Saturday departures regularly sell out, and October is our busiest month of the year.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund under 24 hours. Tours run rain, snow or starlight; if we ever cancel a departure, you get a full refund or a free rebooking, your choice.

Are Freaky Foot Tours ghost tours kid-friendly?

Our regular ghost and history tours are all-ages: the stories are true history told honestly, not jump scares, and kids 8 to 12 usually love them. We recommend 13+ for the darkest material on the ghost tours. Two experiences are adults-only: Mountain Town of Madness in Flagstaff is 18+, and the private Spirits With The Spirits pub crawl is 21+.

What time does the Flagstaff ghost tour start and where does it meet?

The Original Flagstaff Ghost Tour meets at Wheeler Park, 212 W Aspen Ave, near City Hall, and departs nightly at 7 PM, with a second 8 PM departure on Fridays and Saturdays. Arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your guide. The tour runs 75 minutes and covers about one mile of downtown Flagstaff sidewalks.

How much does the Flagstaff ghost tour cost?

Adults $29, students $25 and children $22 for the 75-minute Original Flagstaff Ghost Tour. The adults-only Mountain Town of Madness is $39 for adults and $35 for students. The Route 66 Centennial Walking Tour is $35 for adults and the Flagstaff Mural Tour is $29, with student and child rates on both. Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund under 24 hours.

Is there an adults-only ghost tour in Flagstaff?

Yes, and ours came first: Mountain Town of Madness is the original adults-only (18+) haunted tour of downtown Flagstaff, running Friday and Saturday nights at 9 PM from Wheeler Park. It covers the true-crime cases and after-dark history we leave off the family tour.
