The Story
Before the famed Route 66 carved through the heart of Flagstaff, the Southside thrummed as a notorious Red Light District, a hive of outlaws, gamblers, and spectral secrets. Today, this area has evolved into a hub bustling with local restaurants and businesses, yet it retains the whispers of its mysterious past. This tour invites you to traverse the eerie echoes of a bygone era alongside the lively spirit that now defines the Southside. Delve into chilling tales at landmarks like Hickβs Boarding House and the Historic Brewing Barrel House, where history and modernity intertwine. As you walk these storied streets, you'll uncover hidden chapters of history, palpably alive amidst the area's contemporary vibrancy. Uncover the full, haunting story of Dutch May, a revered madame whose life met a shadowy end. This narrative is exclusive to our journey, providing a rare glimpse into a figure shrouded in both prosperity and mystery. Embark on a journey where history meets mystery, book today and peel back the layers of Flagstaffβs rich and vibrant past.

βMy wife and I did the Southside tour with Michelle, who was amazing! She is very personable and knows her Flagstaff history. We really loved our experience with Michelle and hope to get her as our guide when we do the other tours.β

βI loved all the stories we heard on the Southside Freaky Foot Tours! There's more spooky activity south of the tracks than I expected. β¦β

Before You Book
Book online through our secure Peek booking calendar (every tour page has a Book Now button), or call or text us at (928) 224-0518. Booking a few days ahead is recommended: tours are small groups, Friday and Saturday departures regularly sell out, and October is our busiest month of the year.
Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund under 24 hours. Tours run rain, snow or starlight; if we ever cancel a departure, you get a full refund or a free rebooking, your choice.
Our regular ghost and history tours are all-ages: the stories are true history told honestly, not jump scares, and kids 8 to 12 usually love them. We recommend 13+ for the darkest material on the ghost tours. Two experiences are adults-only: Mountain Town of Madness in Flagstaff is 18+, and the private Spirits With The Spirits pub crawl is 21+.
The Original Flagstaff Ghost Tour meets at Wheeler Park, 212 W Aspen Ave, near City Hall, and departs nightly at 7 PM, with a second 8 PM departure on Fridays and Saturdays. Arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your guide. The tour runs 75 minutes and covers about one mile of downtown Flagstaff sidewalks.
Adults $29, students $25 and children $22 for the 75-minute Original Flagstaff Ghost Tour. The adults-only Mountain Town of Madness is $39 for adults and $35 for students. The Route 66 Centennial Walking Tour and the Flagstaff Mural Tour are each $29 for adults, with student and child rates on both. Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund under 24 hours.
Yes, and ours came first: Mountain Town of Madness is the original adults-only (18+) haunted tour of downtown Flagstaff, running Friday and Saturday nights at 9 PM from Wheeler Park. It covers the true-crime cases and after-dark history we leave off the family tour.
