    Halloweek, one night only

Be a Ghost on a Ghost Tour

A special 7:30 PM departure of the Downtown Flagstaff Haunted History Tour where every guest is a ghost. Everyone is welcome. Grab your friends, grab a sheet, and haunt downtown with us.

    The event

    What to expect

It started as a joke on our feed: a ghost taking a ghost tour. People loved it so much that we are making it real for one night. Same researched Flagstaff hauntings, same 75 minutes through the historic downtown, same storytellers, except this time the whole group is wearing sheets.

This is the most fun you can have in a bedsheet, and everyone is invited: friends, family, coworkers, visitors, your date, your kids. Forty ghosts drifting past the Weatherford Hotel and the Orpheum is a sight downtown has never seen, and you will want the photos.

We picked Monday on purpose. Monday is the one night most of the people who make downtown Flagstaff run, the servers, bartenders, baristas, cooks and shop crews, actually have off. Everyone is welcome at full price; if you work downtown, there is a $19 ticket, because we want to show you some love.

Bring your own sheet, or preorder a ready-to-haunt ghost sheet for $20 with your tickets and we hand it to you at check-in. Sheets are made to order the morning of the tour, so they must be preordered by Sunday night, October 25. Either way, eye holes are mandatory and giggling is expected.

Afterwards, the night is young. We are planning to lead a ghost pub crawl through downtown for anyone 21 and over who wants to keep haunting. No ticket needed, you buy your own drinks, sheets stay on.

If demand is huge, we add another time slot that night. So if the tour shows sold out, call or text us and we will see about opening a second departure.

How to make a sheet ghost costume in ten minutes

Use a plain white flat sheet, twin or full. Drape it over your head and have a friend mark where your eyes land with a pencil, then take it off and cut two holes about the size of a quarter, a little bigger than feels right so you can see curbs and stairs. Hem check: the sheet should stop above your shoes, so trim the bottom or tuck it into a belt around your waist under the sheet. A dark shirt and pants underneath keep the look clean. Optional flourishes: a bit of black fabric paint or marker for a mouth, a chain belt, a tiny hat pinned on top. Bring a flashlight or your phone light for the walk back to the car.

Where to find a cheap sheet in Flagstaff

A thrifted sheet runs a few dollars and the money stays local. Hodgepodge Thrift (452 N Switzer Canyon Dr, run by Northland Hospice), Cedar Closet (2919 N West St), Sharon's Attic (1926 N 4th St), the Habitat for Humanity ReStore (2016 N 4th St), St. Vincent de Paul (2113 N East St) and Thrift for Goodness Sake (2 S Beaver St, right downtown) all carry linens, and Goodwill and Savers are on the east side. Hours shift with the season, so call ahead or check before you drive over. No time to hunt? Preorder a ghost sheet with your tickets by Sunday night and we hand it to you at check-in. We make exactly as many as are ordered, the morning of, so there are none to buy at the door.

Why Monday, and who it is for

Everyone. Locals, visitors, families, first-timers, regulars. Halloweek runs all week, but Monday is the night downtown's own people can come, so we built the night around them: servers, bartenders, baristas, line cooks, shop crews. If that is you, pick the $19 downtown worker ticket, tell us where you work, and bring the whole shift. If it is not you, come anyway. The more ghosts the better.

    Good to know

All ages are welcome; the stories suit 13 and up best, and kids 12 and under need an adult ghost with them. The route is about a mile on downtown sidewalks at an easy pace with stops. Everything happens outdoors, so well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome too, sheet optional. Tours run rain, snow or starlight.

After the tour: a ghost pub crawl

When the tour ends around 8:45 PM, we are planning to keep going with an informal ghost pub crawl through downtown for anyone 21 and over. No ticket, no set price: you buy your own drinks, we pick the stops and tell the stories between them. Sheets stay on. Details are confirmed on the night, so stick around after the last story.

    Sold out? Tell us

We are starting with one 7:30 PM departure. If demand is huge, we add another time slot that night and open more tickets. If the page shows sold out, call or text (928) 224-0518 or email support@freakyfoottours.com and we will let you know the moment a second departure opens.

    Quick answers

Do I have to wear a sheet?

Nobody will check, but you will be the only one not glowing in the photos. Any ghost costume counts: a sheet, a tattered white dress, a Victorian specter. We do not sell sheets at the door; the only way to get one from us is to preorder it with your tickets by Sunday night.

Is this only for downtown workers?

No. Everyone is welcome: locals, visitors, families, groups. We chose Monday and added the $19 ticket so downtown's service workers could finally join a tour on their night off, but the sheets fit everybody.

Is this the same tour as the regular 7 PM ghost tour?

Same stories, same route, same guides. It is a separate 7:30 PM departure so the regular 7 PM tour runs as normal and the ghosts get the street to themselves.

How does the downtown worker ticket work?

Honor system. If you work at a downtown Flagstaff business, pick the $19 ticket and tell us where you work in the box at checkout. We may ask where you work when you check in, mostly so we can say thanks. Everyone else is welcome on the regular ticket; the discount is just our way of showing downtown's crews some love.

    What is the refund policy?

Full refund when you cancel 24 or more hours before the tour; no refund under 24 hours. Tours run rain, snow or starlight; if we ever cancel a departure, you get a full refund or a free rebooking, your choice. Email support@freakyfoottours.com with your order number.

Can I bring my kids or my dog?

Yes to both. The tour is all ages and happens entirely outdoors, so leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome. The stories suit 13 and up best; kids 12 and under join with an adult.

    What happens after the tour?

A ghost pub crawl, most likely. Anyone 21 and over who wants to keep haunting can follow the guides to a few downtown bars. It is informal and free to join; you pay for your own drinks. We confirm the plan on the night.

    What if it sells out?

If demand is big enough, we add a second departure that night. Call or text (928) 224-0518 and we will tell you as soon as another time slot opens.
